False starts and half-arsed wellness
This past week has seen a lot of chat about back-to-school vibes, and capturing that ‘new pencil case’ feeling that September can bring regardless of whether the academic calendar has any bearing on how you live your life. This month can feel galvanising in a way that January, with its bleak sense of deprivation, does not. It’s easy to see why so many people seize on September as a fresh start, a clean slate and an opportunity to make health or work-related resolutions.
But if you’re finding it difficult to harness that September energy this year, you are not alone. I’m with you and, anecdotally (at least according to my WhatsApp groups), so are many others.
