When was the last time you had a proper cry?

I was thinking about this after seeing Blur on Saturday night. Damon Albarn was clearly emotional, talking about the significance of being in London, being at Wembley, and hearing the crowd sing back to him songs that he wrote as a teenager with Graham Coxon. (The first time they performed together was at a school assembly so you can see why, aged 55, they’re feeling poignant.) But it was at Sunday night’s show that the emotion really seemed to hit. After performing Under the Westway, Damon fully broke down. It wasn’t a case of wiping away a subtle tear, but proper heaving sobs.
