So glad to have found you! As a fellow breast cancer survivor, I relate deeply to wanting to do whatever you can to never have breast cancer again. I love that you mix fun into the equation — something that doesn’t come naturally to me. Looking forward to reading more!
I am so pleased I found you. I love your fun writing style and admire your journey. I loved your book Mindful Drinking and I feel I can relate to a similar lifestyle in London and nothing changed when I moved to Canada. We’re a social people and it’s an easy lifestyle to adopt. Thank you for passing along your insights because now I have to adapt and you’re helping with that. I want to be a better husband and father and look forward to your weekly readings and archives.
PS I realise make up is at the more ‘frivolous’ end of wellness but it makes us feel so good and I miss it. And such a minefield of information out there with very mixed views on what’s safe / not safe
Amazing thank you! I got really excited about Jones Road cream products but they scored a big red on Yuka. I was also thinking that loads of women will go through menopause whilst on chemo or shortly after so we have a few things to contend with - 1) waiting for eyelashes / eyebrows to grow back. 2) Potentially spotty chemo skin and then 3) changed skin needs from menopause. I’m sure I can’t be the only one who is excited at the prospect of a post chemo make-up bag overhaul. At the moment I’m opting out of all make up whilst on chemo but I don’t enjoy looking in the mirror. The idea of some non-toxic post treatment shopping fills me with hope! I miss mascara so much!
Hi Rosamund. Just wanted to say I would LOVE to read a column on “safe” make up. Your skin always looks so good. Would love to learn more about what make up brands you trust. Whilst on chemo I’m trying to avoid make up all together as my skin is dreadful but looking forward to a day when hair grows back and I can enjoy make up again! But now most of my existing make up bag scores poorly on yuka. So where to start? Would be amazing if make up could be the subject of one of your future newsletters! Please 🙏 pretty please (dreadful pun ;-)
I love your newsletters and find them a great antidote to some of the other wellness things I read. I’d really love to get your well researched take on “safe” beauty. Everything is such a minefield. EG after radiotherapy you have to be extra careful in the sun. They recommend fake tan instead of a real one but then fake tan has all sorts of questionable ingredients. What make up brands have the least toxins etc?
I must confess I'm a sun-worshipper, and haven't stayed out of the sun as much as they told me to after radiotherapy, but I am very diligent with sun cream these days! La Roche-Posay is my favourite (they've actually worked with Macmillan to show that their products are safe during treatment and beyond).
And I've found the free Yuka app really helpful for seeing which products have nasties in them xx

What a brilliant intro - headed back up to read some more of your brilliant take on wellness. ✨💫
Ahh thanks so much!
“As I always say: it’s only good for you if you enjoy it!”
Well said! This is going to be my new motto! 👏👏👏
Also, why wouldn’t you still have a soft spot for Super Noodles, they’re awesome! 🙌
It's a good motto! And, yes, sometimes I just forget about the maltodextrin and eat the super noodles 😂
Oh dear. Now I know too much. 😉

This is a great idea, because I have looked into skincare, but haven't really thought about make-up in the same way. Will investigate! Thanks xx

Ahh thanks so much! I did dive into beauty on this post: https://rosamunddean.substack.com/p/skin-health-connection

Thanks so much. That yuka app is a great way to check for nasties. I worry so much more about make up, sunscreen, fake tan etc now
