I have been intermittent fasting since January this year. The difference it has made to ME is amazing. I no longer think about food 24/7. I read a very good book called "Delay, don't deny" by Gin Stephens that was very helpful and got me started on my journey. I also use an app called "zero" which helps to keep me on track.

Rosamund, you make lots of good points, as always. For me, it's all about conscious eating, as in, eat when suits you but really think about what you want to eat and how it nourishes you. (And don't just wolf down anything on auto-pilot). I am also super interested in the fact that many of us eat for other people all the time. We often eat because someone else is hungry, because someone offered us something, because it suits a cafe to upsell us, because it's 'lunch time'. When often we are not even actually hungry.

This is very interesting. I find that I'm often hungry all the time (a consequence, I fear, of having fatigue and my body thinking I need energy). But since I started paying attention to the composition of my meals (personally - and it is personal - I need to really bump up my protein with breakfast and lunch), I've been able to switch to three meals a day and I've not needed to snack in between.

I followed your and Jonathan’s writings about your experience of cancer, thanks to your lovely Mum, who “shared” the articles.

Big respect, Rosamund!

I was so pleased to find “Well, well, well” and look forward to reading your posts, all the more interesting because (a) I really enjoy what you write and (b) I have known you for about 41 years, even though we have not met since you, Ashleigh and my weans, Peita and Marsha, played together as babies and toddlers (or anklebiters as I called them. Still do!)

Happy days.

My goal is to eat nothing between 7PM and 7AM, but I don't always make it. After reading the article, I plan to be more diligent because it does make sense to give ourselves time to digest.

does SEAT include drinks though? (coffee/tea etc? - do they think you should limit these away from meals? - do they affect insulin etc?
