Thanks so much! I was so interested to read about the risk/benefit approach to drinking (and all behaviours). It makes sense that my inclination to drink alcohol dropped off dramatically after breast cancer treatment - my appetite for risk was zero!
I like your perspective. I'm one of those who likes to close the year out as a chapter and think of the new year as an unwritten story. As I start fresh, the story writes itself. I know that deep inside, my heart and spirit know what I need and where I need to go. I trust this process, and make those small changes (as you have) to move in that direction filled with curiosity about the next page.
I’m a big fan of January, and I agree that it’s all about not overdoing it too quickly. January seems like the perfect month to go slow and gently build up to things again. I’ve banished silly expectations and now it’s all about doing a tiny amount of something. Love the idea of your three minute workout!
I love the idea of your 3-minute workout, Rosamund! Past experience has taught me that building a habit and starting small is always better than setting yourself up to fail. My New Year resolution is to get outside and walk more, but weight lifting is so important to us as breast cancer survivors, and adding in smaller chunks of movement seems so much more doable!
Definitely! Waaay more doable. Just after posting this I listened to Liz Moody’s podcast and she was talking about short workouts being really effective too 💪
That’s great! I need to check out that podcast. Of course, just after I got all excited to try this, I got evacuated due to the wildfires (I’m OK!) and completely forgot. Thank goodness my Substack notifications are here to remind me haha
Thanks for the shout-out, Rosamund! I really like your perspective on the issues you present here!

I love this. Trusting the process can be hard, but it’s easier when you’ve taken time to consider what you actually want/need

Excellent! Here's to fewer silly expectations, and more tiny amounts of things!
Wonderful article as usual, Rosamund. And you are looking great too
Ah thanks so much Dolores ❤️
